studio d’artisan has been producing denim of the highest order since 1979. the original architect of vintage denim production using disused shuttle looms, studio d’artisan is one of the finest japanese denim producers with huge international respect within the denim connoisseur community.
they are headquartered on osaka whilst the production takes place in the okayama prefecture, a traditional cotton weaving area known for its indigo dying and denim production.
the denim comes in five styles and three different weights 15oz, 14oz and 13.75oz. All styles benefit from the selvage seam and a natural fade through wear, second to none. The first model produced is the sd-d01 and maintains its position as the flagship of the range. Other variations include left twill fabric and also black denim. All styles come as a raw product.
seasonal collections are produced twice annually which include leather accessories of the highest calibre. autumn winter collections are available to view in june and spring summer collections are available to view in november. . it is important to note that pocket arcuate and patch design is unique to the brand. studio d’artisan were one of the first brands to disassociate themselves with international copyright infringements of a well known denim brand.
